Harrah's New Orleans patron alleges he was injured when he tripped on speaker

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that he tripped over a speaker at a casino.

Robert Wagers filed a suit against Jazz Casino Co. LLC, doing business as Harrah's New Orleans, John Doe, and ABC insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 30.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's property at 228 Poydras St. in New Orleans when the incident occurred on Nov. 24, 2015. The suit states that a speaker was poorly placed and the plaintiff was caused to trip on it.

The defendants are accused of negligence through placing the item in a poorly lit area, failing to warn guests of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Mark G. Tauzier, John M. Yeager and Anthony V. Lanasa Jr. of Yeager, Lanasa Tauzier LLC in Hammond.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
