Smoothie King patron claims wet floor caused fall, injuries

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she claims that she slipped and fell in a Smoothie King.

Tanya Fabre filed a suit against Bankers Insurance Co., Smoothie King Co. Inc. and King Enterprises of New Orleans Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 6.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest in the Smoothie King located at 1000 South Clearview Parkway, Suite 1004 when the incident occurred on Dec. 21, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a wet spot on the floor and injured her leg.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to properly clean or maintain the premises.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Lauren Pilié of Morris Bart in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
