Properties business alleges failure to pay property tax

NEW ORLEANS – A properties company is suing three New Orleans property owners, alleging unpaid property taxes.

Dependable Properties LLC filed a suit Dec. 4 against Mohammed Khalil, Samher Barkat Khalil and Ibrahim A. Khalil in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligent failure to pay property taxes. 

According to the claim, Dependable Properties acquired a tax deed for a New Orleans property for the years 2007 and 2008 plus 2008 and 2009 tax sale costs of $3,043.02. The suit states the Khalils have failed to pay the $3,043.02 and other taxes for the property they were obligated to handle.

Dependable Properties seeks all amounts owed, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Eric Oliver Person of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-11979.
