Individual, Maggie's 940 seek damages for alleged breach of contract, defamation

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man and his company are seeking damages for alleged defamation and breach of contract.

Paul Chiriaco and Maggie's 940 LLC filed a suit against Louisiana State Museum, Presbytere, Michael Moreau and Darwin Reed, Krewe of Amon-Ra Inc. and its members individually, et al. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Dec. 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were allegedly defamed by Moreau and Reed openly and in a way that was damaging to their reputation at an event at the Presbytere.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract and defamation.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiffs are represented by Sarah Ney of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.
