Beverly Construction Co. alleges it wasn't paid for construction work

NEW ORLEANS – A construction company alleges it was not compensated for work on a project and is seeking more than $1 million.

Beverly Construction Co. LLC filed a suit against Skanska Mapp, a joint venture, also known as Skanska Mapp Construction LLC, The State of Louisiana, through the Division of Administration, et al. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Dec. 7.

According to the claim, the defendant was hired to complete certain work as a subcontractor for the University Medical Center project in New Orleans. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay the plaintiff the subcontract balance owed, which is $1,666,342.66.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Ashley B. Robinson, Lloyd N. Shields and Andrew G. Vicknair of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
