Visitor blames property owners for broken ankle

GRETNA – A shopping plaza customer is suing the property owners, alleging their negligence caused to him break his ankle.

Chris Peters filed a suit against Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company, Abdul R. Khan, Carmen L. Khan, Azeem Plaza Inc, and AFCom Inc, doing business as PC Tune-Ups in the 24th Judicial District Court Dec. 16, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the defendants owned the Azeem Plaza property at 5416 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Jefferson Parish. On Dec. 21, 2015, the suit says, Peters was walking in the parking lot of the defendants' property when he was caused to slip on a slippery concrete slab, breaking his right ankle.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the premises were safe for guests and failing to fix what they should have.

Peters seeks all reasonable damages, plus court costs. He is is represented by attorney Przemek Lubecki of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767484.
