Woman alleges she was terminated by Pinnacle Entertainment for filing EEOC complaint

BATON ROUGE – A disabled Brusly veteran alleges she was wrongfully terminated for filing a complaint over sexual harassment from a co-worker.

Toni Jones filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., doing business as L'Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge, citing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that due to her co-manager Ken Arceneaux's purported sexual harassment, she experienced a hostile work environment, elevated blood pressure, stress, depression and sleep problems. The plaintiff holds Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to take corrective action or to discipline her co-manager and retaliated against her by terminating her employment on Aug, 22, 2014, for filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in July 2014.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages and all other damages that are appropriate in the case. She is represented by James E. Sudduth III of Sudduth & Associates LLC in Lake Charles.
