Customer blames Walmart for injuries

GRETNA – A customer is suing Walmart, alleging negligence caused her injuries at a store in Kenner. 

Sindy James filed a lawsuit against Walmart Louisiana LLC, Walmart Stores Inc and ABC Insurance Company Dec. 30 in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the Walmart, 8912 Veterans Blvd, in Kenner on Dec. 31, The suit says James was injured when plastic bins that were being moved by a machine fell on her head and left shoulder.

The suit says James in no way was responsible for her physical injuries. The lawsuit states Walmart failed to move the bins in a way that kept customers safe, failed to warn the plaintiff of the potential for danger and was overall negligent.

James seeks compensation for medical expenses and physical damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorneys J. Nelson Mayer III and J. Nelson Mayer IV of Valteau, Harris, Koenig & Mayer in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
