Bank seeks more than $100,000 from customer

GRETNA – A bank is suing a customer, alleging more than $100,000 owed from an unpaid promissory note.

Deutsche Bank National Trust Company, as trustee for Ameriquest Mortgage Securities Inc, asset-backed pass-through certificates series 2006-R1, filed a lawsuit against Kendra Harris Johnson Jan. 3 in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging breach of promissory obligation and failure to pay off a balance.

According to the claim, Deutsche Bank is the holder and owner of a promissory note issued by Johnson for the amount of $100,148.29. The suit states the note, intended for a mortgage, was never paid off and the defendant has acknowledged the debt she owed.

Deutsche Bank National Trust seeks the $100,148.29 owed, plus interest, attorney fees and court costs. It is is represented by attorneys Daniel A. Reed, Lawrence R. Anderson Jr., Anthony J. Russo Jr., Allison N. Beasley of Seale, Smith, Zuber & Barnette LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
