BATON ROUGE – A man alleges his disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Henry L. Childress Jr. filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.'s Long-Term Disability Plan and Standard Insurance Co. alleging that they violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a proximate result of the defendants’ improper termination of his disability claim, he has suffered damages for loss of disability benefits. The plaintiff holds Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.'s Long-Term Disability Plan and Standard Insurance Co. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adequately investigate the merits of his claim and wrongfully denied it and failed to provide a full and fair review.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order requiring defendants to pay all his benefits due under the terms of the plan and declaring that he is entitled to such benefits, award for attorneys’ fees and costs and all other legal, general and equitable relief. He is represented by Scott D. Wilson in Baton Rouge.
