Finance company alleges customer owes more than $154,000

NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana financial company is suing a mortgage loan customer, alleging she owes more than $154,000.

Finance of America Reverse LLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 29 against Maria E. Vergara Salazar Escanelle, alleging failure to pay off a mortgage.

According to the complaint, Escanelle had a reverse mortgage loan taken out Feb. 20, 2015. The suit states the defendant was required to make monthly payments on the balance of the loan but has failed to keep up with payments. Escanelle allegedly still owes $154,282.76 to the plaintiff.

Finance of America Reverse seeks the money due, all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Rader Jackson of Jackson & McPherson LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Melvin Zeno.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-12655.
