Finance company alleges customer never paid off mortgage

NEW ORLEANS – A finance company is suing an Orleans Parish woman, alleging she never fully paid off a mortgage.

Finance of America Reverse LLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 14 against Verrena Wallace, also known as Allen Wallace, in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging failure to pay a mortgage off in a timely manner.

According to the complaint, Finance of America Reserve is the holder of a promissory note for the principal sum of $127,500. The suit states Wallace agreed to pay off the balance of the note in monthly installments but has failed to keep up with the property charges.

The lawsuit says Wallace is indebted to the plaintiff for $63,712.14, plus interest.

Finance of America Reserve seeks the money owed, all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorneys from Dean Morris LLC in Monroe.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Melvin Zeno.
