Customer blames Metairie pizzeria for injuries

GRETNA -- A customer is suing a Metairie pizzeria, alleging the defendant's negligence caused him to suffer injuries.

Raphael Ruffino filed a suit Jan. 6 against TRDD Duvio LLC, doing business as Brooklyn Pizzeria, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on Feb. 22, 2016, Ruffino was at Brooklyn Pizzeria, 4301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, when he was caused to slip and fall on rainwater that had been left on the ground. The suit says he suffered injuries to his back, hip and thigh.

Brooklyn Pizzeria is accused of negligence through failing to properly clean the store, failing to ensure the premises were safe and overall negligence in the treatment of the situation.

Ruffino seeks damages for medical expenses and loss of income, as well as attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney David J. Schexnaydre of Schexnaydre Law Firm LLC in Mandeville.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
