Miller Masonry LLC alleges it is owed more than $300,000 for work

Late 07

SHREVEPORT – A Jefferson Parish business alleges it wasn't paid for work on a federal project.

United States of America, for the use and the benefit of Miller Masonry LLC, filed a complaint on Dec. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport against Anthony and Gordon Construction Co. Inc., The Chameleon Enterprises Inc. and Great American Insurance Co. alleging that they violated the provisions of the Miller Act.

According to the complaint, Miller Masonry LLC entered into an agreement with Chameleon to furnish labor and materials and services related to masonry work for the federal construction project for the Shreveport Job Corps Center, for which A&G was general contractor. During the course of the project, Miller Masonry allegedly was directed to perform additional work. To date, it alleges has not been paid any amounts for its work performed on the project in the sum amount of $307,287.80.

The plaintiff holds Anthony and Gordon Construction Co. Inc. The Chameleon Enterprises Inc. and Great American Insurance Co. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make any payment for plaintiff's work performed on the project.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in its favor for all damages, plus interest, attorney’s fees, costs of these proceedings, and all legal, general and equitable relief. It is represented by David N. Loria in New Orleans.
