Technician claims Dyncorp International breached employment contract in regards to wages

Law money 10

BATON ROUGE – A Jefferson Parish man employed as an escort monitoring technician for a private sector contractor that provides services to the military alleges he is owed unpaid wages.

Everett Blakes, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Dyncorp International LLC alleging that the private contractor failed to pay him fully in accordance with the contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that throughout his tenure in Afghanistan, he did not receive and has yet to receive all payments and benefits as promised in the contract that were due to him. The plaintiff holds Dyncorp International LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime and/or other premium compensations, failed to provide paid leave and failed to pay the terminal service indemnity.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for actual damages in the form of retroactive and prospective benefits and compensation, attorney’s fees, expenses, and costs of this suit and such other legal and equitable relief as the court deems proper. He is represented by Perry R. Staub Jr., Mark E. Van Horn and Janet Daly McGrew of Taggart Morton LLC in New Orleans.
