Man claims uneven pavement caused injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish couple claims that uneven pavement caused injuries.

Stephen Amedee & Tanya Amedee filed a lawsuit Jan. 3 against Aimbridge Hospitality LLC, doing business as Embassy Suites New Orleans, and the city of New Orleans in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Stephen Amedee was walking on the sidewalk in front of the defendant's property in New Orleans on Jan. 17, 2016, when the incident took place. The suit states that he was caused to trip and fall on uneven brick pavement resulting in major injuries to his body.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to provide adequate warning of the danger, failing to repair the condition and overall negligence.

The couple seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. They are represented by attorneys Joseph S. Piacun, Thomas A. Gennusa II and Reid S. Uzee of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
