Country club blamed for woman's fall

GRETNA – A woman is suing a country club, alleging its negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Betsy Davis filed a suit Jan. 18 against Chateau Golf & Country Club Ltd. and James River Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Davis was a guest at the country club Jan. 15, 2016. The suit states while at the defendant's property, Davis slipped and fell due to some liquid on the ground.

The suit says the defendant was negligent through failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

Davis seeks damages, attorney fees, court costs and all equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Michael C. Darnell of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 768242.
