Transdev Services Inc. claims it is owed more than $45,000 for damages to ferry landing

NEW ORLEANS – The operator of the Lower Algiers Ferry Landing Barge alleges it is owed for damages caused by a vessel.

Transdev Services Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against M/V Ambrie Dupre and Dupre Marine Transportation LLC

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan 3, 2016, defendant M/V Ambrie Dupre and its tow were located on the navigable waters of the Mississippi River when it allided with plaintiff's Ferry Landing. As a result, plaintiff alleges it suffered damages in the amount of $45,272.58. The plaintiff holds M/V Ambrie Dupre and Dupre Marine Transportation LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain control of their tow and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for its damages, with interest and costs and that the said vessel be condemned and sold to satisfy plaintiff’s judgment and such other and further relief as may be proper.
