BATON ROUGE – A Baton Rouge commercial establishment is accused of unlawfully broadcasting a boxing match.

J&J Sports Productions Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Late Night Group LLC, doing business as Enclave, and Kelly D. Leduff alleging that they violated the Cable & Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 13, 2014, plaintiff was the exclusive nationwide distributor of the “Mayhem” Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Marco Rene Maidana, II WBC World Lightweight Championship Fight Program. The plaintiff holds Late Night Group LLC and Leduff responsible because the defendants allegedly unlawfully intercepted and broadcasted plaintiff's program on their premises for private financial gain and without plaintiff's permission and/or authorization. As a result of the defendants' alleged unlawful actions, the plaintiff claims it suffered monetary damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, plus litigation costs and all other proper relief. It is represented by Ronnie J. Berthelot of The Berthelot Law Firm LLC in Baton Rouge.
