Customer blames Walmart for fall

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing Walmart, alleging its negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries. 

Zelia St. Ann filed a suit Jan. 26 against Walmart Stores Inc. and Claims Management Inc. in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on Feb. 14, 2016, St. Ann was a guest at the Walmart Superstore, New Orleans. The suit states St. Ann was caused to slip and fall on eggs that had been left on the floor. The lawsuit states the fall resulted in injuries to her lumbar spine and cervical spine, a shoulder contusion, muscle spasms and a contusion to her lower extremity.

Walmart is accused of negligently failing to properly manage the store and clean up the mess, failing to warn of the danger and failing to make the store safe for customers.

St. Ann seeks all reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Thomas C. Cerullo of The Law Firm of Thomas C. Cerullo APLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
