University alleges student owes more than $3,000

NEW ORLEANS – A university is suing a student, alleging failure to pay more than $3,000.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of Louisiana at Lafayette filed a lawsuit Jan. 27 against Eboni D. Harris of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, Harris was given goods and or services from the university which totaled $3,176.84 in value. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay off the balance.

The university seeks all money owed, reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by assistant state attorney general Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
