Man claims New Orleans Marriott failed to keep property safe

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages following a slip and fall in a New Orleans hotel.

Dave Baron filed a lawsuit Jan. 23 against Marriott International Inc, Marriott Hotel Services Inc and HMC Hotel Properties II Limited Partnership in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a guest at the New Orleans Marriott at 555 Canal St. on Feb. 5, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that he was caused to slip and fall on a wet surface that had been created by melted ice. The fall caused the plaintiff to suffer from injuries to his ribs and other areas.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the floor and property were safe for guests, failing to warn of the danger and failing to properly train and supervise employees.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney Craig S. Watson in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
