GRETNA – A credit union is suing a customer, alleging she owes more than $8,000 from a purchase agreement for a car.

Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union, formerly known as Jefferson Financial Credit Union filed a suit Feb. 6 against Marie F. Dennis in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due.

According to the claim, Jefferson Financial plaintiff is the holder of a retail installment sales contract, promissory note and security agreement that was executed by the Dennis defendant toward the purchase of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. The principal sum of the agreement was $33,888.21, the suit says, and Dennis is still indebted to the plaintiff for $8,193.48, plus interest and late fees.

Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Joseph M. Mouton II of D'Aquila, Contreras & Vega in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
