NEW ORLEANS – Geico alleges a client took money unjustly.

Geico Casualty Company filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 against W.V.B. LLC, doing business as Hilberts By Accident, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging conversions and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, Geico had issued a policy of insurance to cover a 2013 Nissan Sentra, owned by Michael Deal. The suit states on Sept. 16, 2013, the vehicle was involved in a crash and that Geico agreed to pay for the repairs of the vehicle in the sum of $7,213.40.

After receiving a number of checks from Geico, the suit says, Hilberts by Accident received a check for the repairs of the vehicle from 21st Century Centennial Insurance Company, after the other vehicle in the accident was found to be at fault. The lawsuit states the defendant has failed to return the $7,213.40 paid by Geico.

Geico seeks all money owed, damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Richard S. Bouckaert of the Law Office of Arostegui & McClure in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 17-1464.
