NEW ORLEANS – A New York company is seeking damages, claiming that it has rights to a property in Orleans Parish.

AP Direct LLC filed a lawsuit Feb. 9 against Trudy Modica Turner and the state of Louisiana in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging declaratory judgment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the 70 percent owner of the property, and the defendant owns 30 percent. The suit states that the fair market value of the property is $170,000 and that the plaintiff is seeking the right to sell the property at a public auction. The plaintiff claims that its majority ownership disqualifies the defendant from any ownership of the property.

The defendant is accused of wrongful claim of ownership.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Wesley Plaisance of Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher Bruno.
