NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing New Orleans property owners, alleging their negligence caused her injuries.
Patricia Duplantis filed a lawsuit Feb. 22 against Emblem Restaurant Group LLC, The Backyard LLC, Hudson Insurance Group, and State Farm Fire and Casualty Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on March 3, 2106, Duplantis was at the defendant's property, 244 West Harrison Ave., New Orleans. While she was walking through the parking lot, the suit says, she tripped and fell on a large crack in the concrete.
The lawsuit states Duplantis suffered a fracture to her left humeral shaft, and was sent to East Jefferson General Hospital for medical attention.
The defendant is accused of negligently failing to protect customers, allowing a dangerous condition to exist, failing to warn of the danger and failure to maintain the property.
Duplantis seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorneys Bradley Egenberg and Ben Berman of Egenberg APLC in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
