Community college alleges student owes more than $1,500

GRETNA – A community college is suing a student, alleging he owes more than $1,500.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System, through Delgado Community College, filed a suit Feb. 27 against Edwan Gomez in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the claim, the college allowed Gomez to attend the institution for the fall 2014 semester. The suit states he accumulated a balance owing of $1,510.24 and has failed to pay off the balance.

Delgado Community College seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by assistant state attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
