University alleges student owes more than $3,000

Late 07

NEW ORLEANS – A university is suing a student, alleging he owes more than $3,000.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through Nicholls State University, filed a lawsuit Feb. 21 against Luc K. Lussier in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, Nicholls State allowed Lussier to attend its institution for the spring 2012 semester. The suit says Lussier accumulated a balance due of $3,195.26, plus interest, which he has yet to pay. The lawsuit states the defendant also was awarded financial aid, for which the balance of $1,780 still must be paid off.

Nicholls State seeks all sums due, court costs and and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Meghan N. Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
