Woman alleges back, neck injuries after accident in Texas town

Car accident 45

NEW ORLEANS – A Lafourche Parish motorist alleges she was injured when she was rear-ended while driving in Texas.

Samantha Lajaunie filed a complaint on Feb. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Kenneth M. Parrack and Allstate Insurance Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 19, 2016, she was operating her 2009 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the 3900 block of College Street in the city of Baytown, Texas, when Parrack, who was operating his 2015 Ford F-250, rear-ended plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff alleges she suffered severe injuries to her back, neck and shoulders.

The plaintiff holds Parrack and Allstate Insurance Co. responsible because defendant Parrack allegedly carelessly operated his vehicle, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to see what he should have seen.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount to adequately compensate her for her damages, plus interest, costs of these proceedings and all other general and equitable relief. She is represented by Mary W. Riviere, Hunt B. Downer, David J. Pellegrin Jr. and Joseph L. Waitz III of Waitz & Downer in Houma.
