GRETNA – A bank is suing a mortgage customer, alleging he owes nearly $200,000.
JPMorgan Chase Bank NA filed a suit March 6 against Naresh W. Copeland in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due in failing to pay off a mortgage note.
According to the claim, JP Morgan Chase is the holder of a promissory note for $214,423. The suit states Copeland has failed to pay off the balance of the note and is indebted to the plaintiff for $195,912.66, plus interest.
JP Morgan Chase seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorneys Daniel A. Reed, Lawrence R. Anderson, Anthony J. Russo Jr. and Allison N. Beasley of Seale, Smith, Zuber & Barnette LLP in Baton Rouge.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
