Company sues over deceased woman's unpaid debt

NEW ORLEANS – A company is suing the heirs of a woman the plaintiff alleges died before paying off a promissory note.

James B. Nutter and Co. filed a lawsuit March 9 against Ida Kendrick, also known as Ida Kendrick Victern, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging sums due in failing to pay off a promissory note..

According to the complaint, Kendrick was given a reverse mortgage loan in May 2009 and was required to make payments on the balance. The suit states Kendrick failed to pay off the loan agreement and is still indebted to the plaintiff for $123,127.76, plus interest. As Kendrick has been deceased since Sept. 16, 2016, the plaintiff is in the process of seeking payment of the note.

James B. Nutter and Co. seeks all sums owed and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Rader Jackson of Jackson & McPherson LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula Brown.
