Finance business alleges promissory note holder owes more than $100,000

NEW ORLEANS – A finance business suing a promissory note customer, alleging she owes more than $100,000.

Finance of America Reverse LLC filed a lawsuit March 7 against Elaine Chase Fletcher in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging sums due in failing to pay off a note.

According to the complaint, Finance of America is the holder of a promissory note for the balance of $195,000. The suit states Fletcher executed the promissory note for the payment of a mortgage and should have been paying off the note in monthly installments. However, the lawsuit states, Fletcher has failed to make the necessary payments and is indebted to the plaintiff for the balance of $104,617.32, plus interest and fees.

Finance of America Reserve seeks all money owed, damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Jason R. Smith of Dean Morris LLC in Monroe.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
