Bank of America sues for promissory note payoff

GRETNA – Bank of America is seeking damages for an unpaid promissory note.

Bank of America N.A. filed a lawsuit March 15 against Levy Austin Banks in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is the holder of a promissory note for the balance of $118,044. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance of his mortgage and is indebted to the plaintiff for $98,662.31 plus interest and fees.

The plaintiff is seeking seizure of the property in question, all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Lindsay Faulkner of Shapiro & Daigrepont LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 769956.
