Hertz files suit over damaged rental car

NEW ORLEANS – A car rental company is seeking reparation for a vehicle that was damaged.

The Hertz Corp. filed a lawsuit March 9 against Wendell Tassin in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued the defendant a rental vehicle, which the defendant then damaged and now owes a balance of $12,446.21. The suit states that the plaintiff is seeking collection of the damages as stated in the rental agreement.

The defendant is accused of failing to take proper care of the rental vehicle and overall breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Derrick Shelton of the Law Offices of Derrick M. Shelton LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern Reese.
