NEW ORLEANS – South Louisiana Petroleum Co. is seeking damages for alleged negligence that occurred on a regional transportation project.

The company filed a lawsuit March 7 against Archer Western Construction LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the owner of the property at 1019 St. Peters St. in New Orleans. The suit states that in 2016 New Orleans Regional Transit Authority was tasked with the construction of a streetcar-line. The RTA entered into a contract with the defendant for the completion of some of the work. The suit states that in the course of its work, the construction firm caused extensive damages to the plaintiff's property.

The defendant is accused of liability in the damage to the plaintiff's property and negligence through failing to take the appropriate measures to protect the plaintiff's property.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Joseph Bruno and Daniel Meyer of Bruno & Bruno LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher Bruno.
