Company alleges storage business failed to monitor wild animals

GRETNA – A company is suing a storage business, alleging dead animals infested the plaintiff's space.

Trainque Group LLC, doing business as Surety Lending Solutions Lease, filed a suit against Johnson Storage & Moving Co. LLC in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, Surety Lending sought help when it property at 100 West Airline Highway, Suite A., Kenner, was plagued with wild animals that would die in the ceiling after becoming trapped. The plaintiff says it notified Johnson Storage but the defendant repeatedly failed to properly handle the problem, sometimes failing to remove dead animals in a reasonable amount of time. The plaintiff was forced to leave the premises due to the condition of the property. the lawsuit states.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to take necessary precautions and breach of contract through failing to exercise due diligence.

Surety Landing Solutions Lease seeks all damages, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Martin J. McGuane of Mumphrey Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
