Macy's shopper claims she was injured after tripping in store

NEW ORLEANS – A shopper alleges she was injured after tripping at a Metairie department store.

Nancy T. Matherne filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Macy's Corporate Services Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 10, 2016, she was seriously injured when she tripped and fell in Macy’s store located in Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie. She alleges she suffered serious injuries and damages, which resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for a sum of money to commensurate plaintiff's damages, together with interest, costs of this suit and for all general and equitable relief.
