NEW ORLEANS – A Tennessee consumer claims a Metairie debt collector harassed and threatened her.

Kaylin Lechner filed a complaint on March 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against McNeil & Meyers Asset Management Group LLC alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, as a result of defendant's unlawful collection efforts, she was caused to suffer emotional distress in the form of frustration, annoyance, aggravation and anxiety. The plaintiff holds McNeil & Meyers Asset Management Group LLC responsible because despite her request to stop calling her, the defendant allegedly continued to call her on her cellular phone using an automatic telephone dialing system and threatened her to garnish her wages and to negatively affect her credit.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, costs and reasonable attorney’s fees and such other legal and/or equitable relief as the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Samuel J. Ford of Scott, Vicknair, Hair & Checki LLC in New Orleans.
