Jefferson Parish man claims sharp piece of metal punctured toe and caused infection

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that a sharp piece of metal injured him.

Edgar Barabino of Jefferson Parish filed a lawsuit against Washington Investment Properties LLC, Washington Investment Group LLC, Ramona Washington and Keisha Washington in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on April 12, 2016, the plaintiff parked his car at the defendants' property at 1904 Lapeyrouse St., Orleans Parish. The plaintiff was allegedly injured when he was walking on the property and his big toe hit a sharp piece of metal that was protruding out of the ground. The plaintiff had an infection as a result, the complaint states.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain the property, failing to warn of the danger that the metal posed, failing to have the piece of metal removed and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Przemek Lubecki in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
