Jefferson Parish man claims unmarked hazard at Mandarin House caused him to slip and fall

GRETNA – A man claims that he was caused to slip and fall at a restaurant.

Jose Antonio Suazo of Jefferson Parish filed a suit April 6 against Mandarin Metairie LLC, doing business as Mandarin House, and Nautilus Insurance Group in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on Sept. 25, 2016, the plaintiff was at the defendant's property at 3501 Severn Ave., Metairie when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a substance on the ground that was left without warning.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to clean up the floor, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by Leonard Penzo of Cristian P. Silva Law Office LLC in Harvey.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 770775.
