SHREVEPORT – The government is seeking an injunction prohibiting a Princeton individual and a Ringgold business from dealing with federal tax returns.

United States of America filed a complaint on April 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport Division against Angelina W. Adams, also known as Angelina Morris and Angie’s Tax Service LLC seeking permanent injunction.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Adams pled guilty to falsifying state tax returns in 2015 and was sentenced to two years' probation and ordered to pay restitution. The suit states that the defendants have continually prepared tax returns that understate liabilities and overstate refunds.

The plaintiff holds Adams and Angie’s Tax Service LLC responsible because the defendants' alleged actions have harmed customers, the United States and the public.

The plaintiff seeks permanent injunction prohibiting defendants from preparing, filing or assisting the preparation or filing of federal tax returns, an order to immediately revoke defendants' Preparer Tax Identification Number and Electronic Filing Identification Number, award for costs incurred with this action, along with such other relief as justice requires. It is represented by Kari A.R. Powell of U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
