NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages after a slot machine allegedly broke and injured her.
Ladasha Felix filed a lawsuit April 11 against Jazz Casino Co. LLC, doing business as Harrah's New Orleans; Caesars Entertainment Corp.; and Employee A. of Jazz Casino Co. LLC and/or Caesars Entertainment Corp. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's property on May 13, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when a metal panel from a slot machine fell off the machine and onto the plaintiff. The plaintiff's hand, wrist, legs and lower body were injured as a result of the incident. Despite the plaintiff seeking communication with the defendant, the defendant has failed to provide any reparation to the plaintiff or any communication.
The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn the plaintiff of the danger, failing to repair the machine in a timely manner and overall negligence.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Samuel J. Accardo Jr. of Accardo Law Firm LLC in LaPlace.
