Jefferson Parish woman seeks damages for negligence after she slipped and fell at the airport

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she slipped and fell on wet ground at an airport.

Deborah Zito filed a lawsuit April 19 against Metro Service Group Inc., State National Insurance Co. Inc., New Orleans Aviation Board/Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the city of New Orleans and ACE Property and Casualty Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff, a resident of Jefferson Parish, was at the New Orleans International Airport on June 28, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was walking toward baggage claim when she slipped and fell on an area of ground that Metro Service Group Inc. was cleaning.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to properly clean and dry the ground, failing to place the appropriate warning signs and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Brian D. Katz of Herman, Herman & Katz LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
