Woman claims New Orleans Brown Derby Superstore failed to warn of wet floor

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman allegedly slipped and fell while shopping.

Cynthia Robinson filed a lawsuit April 20 against Burlington Insurance Co. and Brown Derby Superstore Inc., doing business as Brown Derby Superstore, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's location at 3402 Tulane Ave., New Orleans on May 14, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff slipped and fell on a liquid that had been left on the ground with no warning.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to clean up the mess or provide warning of the danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Sean M. Regan of The King Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
