State Disaster Recovery Unit claims Jefferson Parish woman failed to use government funds properly

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is being sued for allegedly failing to use government funds as intended.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 24 against Wanda Ingram Hook in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the suit states that the plaintiff gave the defendant $30,000 to use for a home elevation following Hurricane Katrina. The suit states that the defendant has failed to use the funds for the purpose. The plaintiff is seeking repayment of the sums.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
