Jefferson Parish residents accused of failing to show they used government funds to elevate home

GRETNA – Two Jefferson Parish residents are being sued for alleged misuse of government funding.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 24 against Thien Le and Thu Ba Pham in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff gave the defendants a sum of $30,000 to be used towards a home elevation after Hurricane Katrina. The defendants allegedly failed to prove the money had be used as intended.

As a result, the defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771353.
