University of New Orleans seeks damages for Orleans Parish woman's unpaid promissory note

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for sums due on a promissory note.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit April 24 against Pamala L. Bishop of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sums due on a promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages from a promissory note which the defendant was issued for the balance of $4,500. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance of the note.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
