Woman claims she was injured at New Orleans Dollar General

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she tripped on a shelf at a Dollar General.

Ella Mae Lewis filed a lawsuit April 21 against DolgenCorp LLC and DG Louisiana LLC, doing business as Dollar General, and Beverly Walker in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the Dollar General on 6500 Downman Road, New Orleans, on April 22, 2016, when she tripped fell on a rack that should have been mounted on the wall but was on the ground in a dangerous position.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to repair the shelf, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence in the management of the store.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jeffrey T. Greenberg in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
