NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man is seeking damages after a wooden board fell on him at a home improvement store.
Calvin Lange filed a lawsuit April 28 against Lowe's Home Centers Inc. and Lowe's Home Centers LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the Lowe's at 5770 Read Blvd., New Orleans on April 29, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when a wooden board fell on him due to an employee's negligence as he was moving the 18 foot to 20 foot long wooden boards. The plaintiff suffered from contusions, lacerations and swelling in his ankle, according to court documents.
The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger and failing to take the appropriate precautions.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Thomas Hoang, Tony Tran and Anh Cao of the Cao Law Firm in Harvey.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
