Couple alleges Harvey Wal-Mart incorrectly filled prescription

GRETNA – A couple is seeking damages for an incorrect prescription.

Gregory Johnson and Tasha Johnson filed a suit May 3 against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which occurred in June 2016 at the Wal-Mart at 3265 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey. The suit states that the plaintiff was diagnosed with a brain tumor and took his prescriptions to be filled at the defendant's property. The suit states that the plaintiff was given the wrong prescription, unbeknownst to him, and he suffered from headaches and swelling, which caused him to be admitted to the emergency room.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to ensure that the plaintiff was given the proper medication, failing to uphold the duties of a medical professional and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert W. Grant of Grant & Barrow PLC in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
